President

Robert Half Management Resources – Vice President

Ping’s background is in Big 4 Accounting (EY and KPMG), and he brings over 15 years of corporate tax and finance management experience plus 6 years of client service and business development. He currently serves clients across industries, including financial services, healthcare, insurance, software, manufacturing, media, pharmaceutical, telecommunication, and not-for-profit.

Ping serves as Vice President for Robert Half’s accounting and finance consulting division, Management Resources. Within this role, externally, he works with executive clients in the areas of accounting and finance on their senior-level hiring needs. Internally, he manages client relationships, marketing, and the implementation of strategies for revenue growth, as well as the development and execution of key strategic initiatives for his team’s operations.

Ping is passionate about giving back to the community and is an active board member and volunteer of various local and national nonprofit organizations. He is also a mentor to students at Drexel, Penn State, Rutgers, and Temple and guides students in terms of their studies and internship opportunities.

Ping grew up in Philadelphia, and he is a graduate of Drexel University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance at Drexel University, and he also has a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Business Management from the Keller Management School of Business. Ping is fluent in Cantonese and proficient in Mandarin. Ping met his wife on their first day of college. They live in Bucks County with their two children and their dogs, Max and Cody.

Tommy serves as a Practice Partner working with Brian Edmonds in the Greenwood CRE Philadelphia office. He possesses over eleven years of experience, with the last eight in exclusive Tenant Representation and Corporate Services Advisory. Day to day, Tommy advises his corporate clients in leasing, acquiring, and disposing of commercial real estate assets. 

A licensed and seasoned corporate real estate professional, Tommy focuses on Corporate Services for office and industrial tenant representation, property dispositions/acquisitions, portfolio management, and long-term strategic planning. His experience also includes advisory in the new FASB & IASB lease accounting standards that will be taking effect at the end of 2021 for private companies (amended Q4 2020).

Professionally, he was nominated and awarded 40 Under 40 by AL DIA News Media for the class of 2021.

Tommy is a graduate of Temple University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. During his undergraduate studies, he was a member of the Men’s Lacrosse Team.

Tommy is multilingual, fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, and has dual citizenship in the US and Hong Kong.

Yi has lived most of his life in the Philadelphia area. He graduated from Central High School and studied Accounting and Economics at Temple University. He proceeded to work in Public Accounting (Grant Thornton) where he earned his CPA. He continued his corporate career at Comcast, working in the accounting group for the first 3 years and then moving into Finance Operations (6+years). He currently lives in Montgomery County with his wife and two children.

Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health – Director for Community Engagement and Supplier Diversity

Bridgett Battles leads community engagement for Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health – a major anchor institution in Greater Philadelphia. Jefferson is the fifth largest employer and the provider of the largest number of hospital beds in the region. She plays a key role in building Jefferson’s relationships with community organizations and partners.

Bridgett leads conversations on supplier diversity with Jefferson’s external stakeholders. An essential part of her role is to collaborate and cultivate meaningful relationships that impact and improve the lives of the diverse communities Jefferson serves through engagement in workforce readiness, celebrating small businesses and acting as a resource for health and welfare.

In collaboration with Jefferson’s Supply Chain Department, Bridgett launched Supply Chain Connect to offer diverse potential suppliers the opportunity to pitch their business virtually, and get help in preparing their presentations. Jefferson’s Supplier Diversity program is designed to connect more minority, women, veteran, persons with disabilities, and LGBT-owned small businesses to opportunities at Jefferson.

PricewaterhouseCoopers – Risk and Regulatory Financial Services Manager

Sarah is a Risk and Regulatory Financial Services Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where she supports financial services clients ranging from global banks to student loan servicers to drive sustainable growth and proactively manage new regulatory challenges and risks. She is responsible for tailoring solutions to each client’s individual business needs by understanding her client’s situation and using her expertise to develop effective programs for clients to manage risks. Additionally, she provides a range of services, such as internal audit, compliance, and external quality assessments to some of the largest banks in the world.

She is also a leader of the Pan-Asian Community Inclusion Network (PACIN) at PwC.

Wendy Yip

FMC Corporation – North America Accounting Manager

Wendy Yip is the North America Accounting Manager for FMC Corporation, an agricultural sciences company, headquarters in Philadelphia. As the Accounting Manager, she works closely with the shared service centers as well as regional controller, providing oversight and guidance related to recording business transactions, account analyses and reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly financial closings. Wendy is also actively involved in the company’s diversity and inclusion efforts and is a co-lead of Asians Zone of Networking (AZN), a subsidiary of The Bridge, FMC’s multicultural Employee Resource Group.

Prior to joining FMC Corporation in 2013, she worked as senior auditor with Deloitte and Kreischer Miller, where she served clients in a variety of different industries including: registered investment corporations, not-for-profit organizations, manufacturing and distribution companies. Outside of work, Wendy enjoys running, volunteering, gardening, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and spending time with her family and friends.

Wendy earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting with minors in Economics and Management Information Systems from the University of Delaware and her MBA with concentration in Data Intelligent from Saint Joseph’s University. She holds an active CPA license in Pennsylvania.

Wendy is also a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). Previously, she served on the PICPA Community Involvement Committee and Executive Committee. Wendy received the 2019 PICPA Young Leader Award. She is bilingual in English and Cantonese.

Solomon Kim

Solomon Kim

Vice President, Financial Advisor, Portfolio Management Director, and Insurance Planning Director with Morgan Stanley

Solomon Kim is a Vice President, Financial Advisor, Senior Portfolio Manager, and Insurance Planning Director with Morgan Stanley.  Solomon joined Morgan Stanley in 2013.  He graduated with a B.A.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.  Solomon values a holistic approach to financial management with a focus on understanding the relationship between clients, their families, and their finances. 

Solomon started his financial career in 1999 working for PBHG Funds in Chesterbrook, PA.  He transitioned to First Union Bank in 2001 and held various roles including branch manager.  He was recruited to Allianz Life as they launched a new broker dealer, US Allianz Securities.  There he helped to establish the broker dealer’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic region and spearheaded its Multicultural programs.  After a consolidation of all operations to Minnesota, Solomon left US Allianz Securities and joined a boutique life insurance practice working with complex insurance solutions and structuring large insurance portfolios.  Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Solomon ran his own successful life insurance practice. 

Solomon serves on the board of the Korean American Association of Greater Philadelphia, on the advisory board of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia and is active in the nonprofit community. He is an active member of his church where he serves as an Elder. He lives in Blue Bell, PA with his wife, Betsey, and their three children, Joshua, Hannah, and James.

“Miriam has over 12 years of experience as a data, analytics, and automation specialist in the Digital Risk Solutions practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She specializes in providing insight into challenges that client face today. Utilizing the latest tools in data mining, visualization, and robotics, she helps clients explore data and easily digest complex information. She provides clients a path to repeatable solutions, self-service BI, and standardized data methodologies that can be leveraged across platforms. Miriam has helped clients across multiple industries develop strategic long-term data analytics vision, implement repeatable procedures through automation that improves productivity and reduces costs, construct key performance metric definition and reporting, and address compliance with handling of high risk and sensitive data.

As a recipient of the United Way 2017 Women’s Leadership Initiative Next Generation Leader Award, Miriam serves as the Philadelphia Pan Asian Community leader and Risk Assurance Women’s Committee Program Leader at PwC. She sits on the Board Development Committee for Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania and Executive Committee for National Association of Asian American Professionals Philadelphia Chapter. Miriam graduated from Pennsylvania State University Smeal School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems.”

Noel is a Board Member of Asian American Chamber of Commerce in Philadelphia, President of the Peirce Alumni Association Board, and a Board member of the Philadelphia Dragon Boat Association. Within Wells Fargo, Noel is the Chair of Wells Fargo Site Diversity Team.

Shawn is responsible for the Go to Market activities for Xfinity Mobile and for executing marketing efforts to gain new customers and maintain current subscriber base. Previously, Shawn has worked for Deloitte, Rohm & Haas company (now Dow Chemical) and McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals. Shawn holds an International MBA and Masters in Marketing from Temple University and a Bachelors in Business Administration from Drexel University. Shawn was one of the founding committee leads for Asian Pacific Americans employee resource group and currently serves as the APA Lead. He enjoys teaching and giving back to the community that helped raised him.

Joel Catindig is a creative leader with twenty plus years of experience in design and visual communications. Most recently manager of internal communications and engagement at Independence, Joel provides oversight of internal communications across the family of companies. Joel actively supports the company’s diversity and inclusion efforts and is a co-founder of imPACT, the Asian American Pacific Islander business resource group. He serves as a board advisor for the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia and serves as an officer for the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) Philadelphia Chapter. Joel had previously worked at Cendant Corporation, a business and consumer services company, in various creative roles, supporting such brands as Avis, Budget, Wyndham Worldwide, Century 21 Real Estate, and Cheap Tickets. Previous experiences include positions at various design agencies. Joel attended Rutgers – Camden with a major in Fine Arts. He enjoys spending time with his kids and their various activities. Joel is an active endurance athlete who has participated in numerous Ironman Triathlon events.

Sunnaret (Sunny) is a Director at WhartonHill Investment Advisors where she works with clients in all aspects of financial planning and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee. Previously, Sunny worked at Brown Brothers Harriman, BNY Mellon Wealth Management, and most recently at JPMorgan Private Bank where she serviced clients comprising predominantly women and minority business owners.

Sunny currently sits on the Strategic Advisory Group for Innovate Capital Growth Fund, a Philadelphia-based private equity fund focused on small and middle market minority-controlled businesses operating predominantly in the Mid-Atlantic region. She also serves on the Associate Advisory Board for Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & South Jersey, as well as the Advisory Board for the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia.

Gloria Chung works for FMC Corporation in Global Regulatory Affairs as a Global Regulatory Specialist in Philadelphia, PA. She collaborates with global, regional, and country registration managers to support international product registrations and documents. Prior to joining Global Regulatory Affairs, Gloria worked in Research & Development at FMC’s Stine Research Center in Newark, DE. She started her career in FMC Corporation in 2017 in Formulations, where she increased formulation efficiency, performance, quality, safety, and cost. She then worked in the Analytical team, where she provided support to process and formulations development, product chemistry, regulatory sciences, operations, and discovery.

Gloria earned her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemistry from Millersville University in 2017. She also earned her Masters of Science (M.S.) in Chemistry from Villanova University in 2021.

USLI, a Berkshire Hathaway Insurance Company – IT Engineer

Tru Huynh is an IT Engineer and leads the IT team for USLI, a Berkshire Hathaway insurance company. He joined NAAAP in 2020 as Director, College Relations and has worked on the scholarship program to provide scholarships to young Asian American leaders entering college and university.

Tru’s interests include DEI and helping under served communities. He has mentored 7th and 8th graders and helped 3rd and 4th graders in a reading assistance program. He believes that education and empathy are important to fighting the challenges that face diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Tru currently resides in Malvern and splits his time there and with his girlfriend in Delaware. He is a lifelong learner and lover of all things science, technology, music and physical fitness.

Min Park is the Chief Business Officer of Henlius (Aton Bio). He has over 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry – spanning small molecule, large molecule, innovative technologies, and cutting-edge cell and gene therapies – across progressively senior levels of responsibility in marketing, business development, and executive leadership. With a history of notable successes in managing growth-focused global teams, he has a proven command of marketing, sales force effectiveness, marketing/sales integration, product and brand management, and strategy. In his previous careers, Min has held senior roles at Abzena, Catalent, Samsung Biologics, DSM, PDI, and Warner-Lambert. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Business Administration in Marketing from Montclair State University, and is bilingual in English and Korean.

David’s career has primarily been in the healthcare industry in such roles as new business development, account management, customer relationship management and most recently both talent acquisition and career development. Graduating with his Bachelor’s degree, he was initially recruited to join Marion Laboratories, one of Fortune Magazine’s “America’s most admired companies” in a professional pharmaceutical sales career. After winning numerous regional and national sales awards, being selected as a regional trainer and management development candidate, he continued his career selling surgical implants and capital equipment for Allergan and Picker Medical to some of our nation’s most prestigious academic institutions and surgeons in the Philadelphia region. He transitioned his career to an executive recruiter over a decade ago joining ECA Recruiters, a firm with nearly four decades of history of placing sales people and sales managers nationwide. In this role, David has developed dozens of Fortune 500 and start up clients, placed hundreds of individuals in new careers throughout the nation and is often a confidant and resource to those individuals seeking career guidance. David is also a very active community leader. He’s a current board member of the National Association of Asian American Professionals, Philadelphia Chapter.

For over a decade, he’s also been a volunteer leader with the Boy Scouts of America – Cradle of Liberty Council holding many roles, including an executive board member, Council Advancement Committee Chairman and an Assistant Scoutmaster. David also volunteers his time coaching community based baseball and football youth programs.

Alice is currently a Vice President of Human Resources focusing on Organizational Capability for Comcast Cable Headquarters in Philadelphia. In this role Alice is focused on organizational design, structure and optimization of the workforce by linking business strategies to the people processes and people interactions that accelerate collation and drive organizational effectiveness.

Prior to this role Alice was the Human Resources Business Partner for Cable HQ Content Acquisitions, Finance, Human Resources, and Military Affairs where she designed people strategies across these teams through talent management planning, diversity strategies and succession planning.

Alice also spent time leading HR for Comcast Spectacor whose core businesses include the Wells Fargo Center arena and complex, as well as a portfolio of professional sports teams that include the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers. Additionally, Alice led HR for Spectra, a Hospitality firm specializing in Venue Management, Food Services & Hospitality.

Alice was born in Taipei, Taiwan before her family immigrated to the United States. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and has been in the Philadelphia area for almost 20 years.

Peggy Kelly joined Spectrum, A Certified Herman Miller Dealer, in March 2013 as President. Spectrum takes an innovative approach that transforms office workspaces. Before Spectrum, she came from Herman Miller, a leading furniture design firm based in Michigan where she spent three years, most recently as Vice President, Global Seating. Here she obtained experience setting direction for the seating division from inception of products globally to design and development to sales launch, marketing and sell through strategies for seating portfolio. Peggy has a proven track record building new organizations, achieving bottom-line results and developing talent. Peggy currently resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

Cindy is currently the Chief Financial Officer for Coho Partners, Ltd. where she is responsible for executing the company’s financial strategy and overseeing all aspects of its financial operations. With 23 years in the financial industry, Cindy has experience in finance and accounting operations and reporting, M&A, corporate restructurings, digital transformation, product development, and due diligence programs. She previously worked at Valley Forge Capital Management, Aberdeen Standard Investments, TIFF Advisory Service, Inc. and Ernst & Young, LLP.

Cindy also serves as a board member and finance committee chair for the Wilma Theater, is a founding board member of the Greater Philadelphia chapter of Ascend, and a founding board member of the Women in Investing Network.

Throughout his career, he has consistently accelerated growth and enhanced profitability by building top-performing teams, identifying new go-to-market opportunities, and creating a competitive advantage through operational efficiency and digital enablement. Perry combines a tech foundation with broad expertise across alobal P&L management, operations, business development, and sales and experience in industries spanning startups to multibillion-dollar organizations. He is a diversity and inclusion champion who leads with a commitment to open communication and continuous improvement.

Akshar Awalgaonkar

Senior Vice President at Veolia

Akshar Awalgaonkar is a Senior Vice President at Veolia & currently serves as Global Chief Procurement Officer for their Water Technologies & Solutions Group. Prior to taking this responsibility, Akshar has led global teams during his progressive career with Fortune 500 companies such as GE, AbbVie, Walgreens Boots Alliance & Whirlpool Corporation. Throughout his career, Akshar is known to drive accelerated cross functional transformations and enhanced profitability by building top-performing teams.

Akshar holds an Executive MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Master of Science in industrial engineering & supply chain management from Oklahoma State University. He secured his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Pune University, India. Akshar is a certified lean / six sigma black belt as well as Project Management Professional (PMP).

In his personal and professional journey spanning over the last two decades, Akshar has served on various diversity and employee resource groups. He currently serves as Global Executive Sponsor for Veolia’s Women Network. Along with serving as mentor and coach to many talented professionals, he also engages with various business school students on topics of leadership, supply chain & organizational transformation. Akshar is a sought-out speaker in various leadership & supply chain conferences and recently he delivered the keynote presentation at Annual Chief Procurement Officer’s summit held in Dallas, Texas.
